Thanks to the many individuals and groups who made our first annual Canine Carnival a smashing success. Thanks to our wonderful vendors and to our sponsors: DieTech Industries, Spa 316, Wags and Whiskers Sitters, Barks-N-Bubbles, Furry Features Pet Care, and Clever Canidae Dog Training. And of course we can’t say enough about our fabulous board members and volunteers, who worked tirelessly and displayed their usual enthusiasm and energy.
Dee from Clever Canidae ran the wonderful agility course, which was a big hit with our doggie visitors. Regina from Wags and Whiskers arranged an appearance by Denise Fleck, the Pet Safety Crusader. Regina and her volunteers did a variety of things, from showing people how to make dog-safe homemade bubbles to running the “bobbing for treats” booth.
Special thank to this year’s cohort from the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Carroll, who worked with us all spring in preparation for the event, helping publicize the event, soliciting sponsors and raffle prizes, and collecting pet for for our Empty Pet Bowls program. On the big day, volunteers from the council did everything from setting up booths to supervising games like the “which cup has the treat” to grilling the hot dogs and burgers for our concession stand. We truly could not have done it without them.
