Sharing the love for our furry friends
Kobert
I love them because: Kobert was a gift to me, from my father, at a time in my life that I was transitioning into adulthood. He’s been with me since 2014 and throughout every grownup milestone... I couldn’t imagine doing life without him! He’s my best-friend.
He loves to follow me around (even to the bathroom). He’s the most loving pup ever! He enjoys whatever crumbs you may “accidentally” drop on the floor ☺️
Rookie
I love them because: I love them because: he’s the best 65 pound lap dog I’ve ever met. he gives the absolute best snuggles, and he’s so perceptive. He can tell when I’m having an “off” day and makes sure to snuggle extra close on those days.
Rookie is a pit mix about 8 years old. He trotted into my life about 2 years ago after meeting several other pups at a local shelter. He had his “baywatch moment” down the hall, and I knew instantly he was mine. He loves to be close to you and will nudge your hand/arm with his wet nose if you stop petting him. He loves to eat anything [even things he shouldn’t] and shies his head away when he releases the deadliest gas. He is most excited when he is about to be fed or when going for a walk.
Rylee Kate
I love them because: She brings so much love and joy. She loves to snuggle with her family.
Apollo
I love them because: Of all the good boys, he just might be the goodest!
Scarlett
I love them because: Of the way that she loves my children. She talks to them when we come in from a long day of being gone. When my boyfriend comes in from work she will smile at him and wag her tail until he loves on her.
I adopted her from the Carroll county animal shelter in February 2018. She had a sister that looked almost identical.
Trigger and Carmel
I love them because: The affection and companionship they offer my family. Despite senior pictures with formal wear and senior jackets our 2020 grad chose this as her senior picture to go up on the wall.
Kane
I love them because: He is the best snuggle bug even when he takes up the whole bed and is so friendly to everyone! He loves to give everyone all the kisses!
Kane is the best companion and is such a big, gentle baby!
Bella
I love them because: She gets so excited to see me after being home all day by herself!
She is not nice to other dogs but loves kids!
Olive
I love them because: She is a very sweet and loving girl that I rescued from the Caroll county shelter infall of 2017. She is an indoor cat that has learned what her limitations are from me and follows them pretty well. She enjoys eating, sleeping, and watching the birds from the window. She loves her alone time with her mom which is good because it’s just the two of us!
Maggie
I love them because: She challenges me to be a better cat-codependent. Now that she's an old lady (19), she requires more of my attention. She has her own beds but prefers to be all over me in mine. Her culinary tastes are constantly in flux, and her feeding times disrupt my sleep. But every so often she does something ridiculously cute and makes me laugh and appreciate her more. She's a charmer!
Maggie was rescued in 2001 at The Efficiency Lodge in Carrollton when a friend observed her being kicked by someone. I already had a male cat at the time, and when I brought her home, he didn’t seem to mind having her around at all. He had grown up with two other male cats, so I guess it was a nice change for him. Maggie kept to herself a lot and they pretty much ignored each other until he passed on. I rescued another male cat to keep her company but all hell broke loose when they met. So now she’s my upstairs cat and he’s my downstairs cat, and we’re all happy campers!
Peanut
I love them because: He is a roly-poly crazy baby. He seems to be perpetually happy and he always makes me smile.
Peanut is a male terrier mix, about ten years old. He came into our lives when an animal control office called me about a badly wounded puppy she had found entangled in a wire fence. He became a humane society foster pup, and then he became a foster failure. As we nursed him back to health, my dog Seymour grew fond of him and eventually made clear that HE wanted to adopt Peanut. So we kept him and they remain best pals to this day. Peanut loves cheese, long walks, and sleeping under the covers between my husband and me.
Max
I love them because: He’s so lovable but always into something. Have to have four eyes to see what he’s into next. Got him from my daughter when he was 6 weeks old. Thought he was to much for me to handle. Gave him back to her and before she got home called her and told her to bring by baby back. Just couldn’t let him go.
Buckley
I love them because: Buckley is an 11 year old dachshund mix rescue dog. He has to be a part of everything the girls do - even photo- bombing dress-up pictures.
Very patient with being loved on.
Lucas
I love them because: I love how sweet and goofy he is. He has never met a stranger. He is so gentle and kind. He does everything he can to make me smile!
I adopted Lucas at the Carroll County Humane Society 2 years ago. It was the best decision I ever made. He is my very best friend and makes my heart so full!
Bella, Pepper, Sage and Daisy
I love them because: They love us unconditionally! All are Carroll County Animal Shelter dogs. Bella and Pepper were our Christmas gifts to each other in 2011, Sage followed Christmas 2013, and Daisy was my Valentine's day gift in 2017. Love our motley crew!
We also have 2 cats from Carroll County Animal Shelter, Gomez and Archie. Full house and lots of love (and, um, pet hair!)😬
Cooper
I love them because: He gives so much love and is the sweetest companion.
We adopted Cooper when he was 10 weeks old. We adopted from Carroll county shelter. We did a dna test on him and found out he is a lab, husky, fox terrier and shepherd mix. He has been our “ baby” ever since we brought him home. We are so in love.
Wagner
I love them because: He was named after my mentor the late, great Dr. Donald R. Wagner, Dean of the Honors College and Professor of Political Science at UWG. Don had unconditional love for his students and supported them through their trials and tribulations--me included. When I saw Wagner after you posted him on Facebook, I fell in love immediately. Rescuing Wagner was, to my way of thinking, a way of honoring how Don Wagner rescued me and made my life better. I hope that I have done that for Wagner. I know for certain that he has made my life better just like his namesake. He is my 105 lb. cuddle bunny.
Teddy & Jaz
I love them because: They watch TV with me most every night and walk me 2 miles nearly every day. They sponsored the past two Fast and Furriest 5K's (from the comfort of their sofa). They love each other and ignore the cats.
Teddy came through the CCHS foster program in 2011 after two previous failed adoptions; Jaz was adopted from the local animal shelter in 2016.
Carmel the Corgi
I love them because: She is super sweet. When we would let the chickens free range in the mornings and then go out and tell Carmel, “time for bed” she would round them up, back into the coop. I think she loved that job.
Murphy
I love them because: They love unconditionally!
We adopted Murphy from a shelter when we lived in Carrollton several years ago. It was a neighboring shelter. He has been the best dog ever and we love him so much!!
Gracie Lou
I love them because: Gracie Lou is the sweetest, snuggliest, and cutest thing in the world!!!
Eli (Elijah)
I love them because: He is always nearby at home, ready to play or curl up in my lap, and is always up for being carried around.
4 years old male shorthair. He often sits by when I am preparing dinner in the kitchen; He is also ready to sample anything I am making at any point. His most preferred cat bed is a pizza box (the store-bought ones go by the wayside
Bob
I love them because: Before adopting Bob, my first cat, I'd had a general distaste for cats, due mostly to my own misconceptions. With Bob's gentle, friendly nature, he lovingly proved me wrong. Bob welcomes early morning and late night cuddles and greets me upon my return home from work every day. Though we have since adopted 3 more cats, Bob is my forever favorite and best friend.
Bob was originally rescued by Jay (husband) from the local vet office in 2007. He lived with Jay’s family, then with his grandparents, before eventually joining Jay and me in 2016. I can’t imagine life without my baby, Bob.
Seymour
I love them because: He is my heart.. I swear he can read my mind. He is the sweetest, gentlest soul in the world.
Seymour is some sort of terrier mix. He’s about 13 years old. He is a big fan of chicken jerky, squeaky toys, and riding in the car. He is prone to ear infections and hates to get drops in his ears. He joined our family when a friend of one of my sons brought him to me after she saw him get thrown out of a car. She saw him try to run after the car as his uncaring “family” sped away.and so she got him safely out of traffic. She couldn’t have a dog where she lived, so she asked me to watch over him, and I’ve been doing that ever since. He has returned the favor a thousand times over. For example, he isn’t a trained service dog, but several times he has woken me up when my blood sugar level had fallen dangerously low in the night. He’s a literal lifesaver.
Butter
I love them because: I love them because: she is a feisty, lovable, ball of energy. She loves to play and jump around.
Butter is a 4 year old pit mix. She loves to sniff things, devour books [literally], and try to help cook in the kitchen [and be a taste tester]. She is the best little spoon and has recently started to enjoy longer and longer snuggles.
Woodee
I love them because: Woodee has brought me more joy in my life than I ever thought possible! He's been with me through so many highs and lows, and I know I can always count on his wiggly butt to greet me when I come home. No matter how bad my day has been, he greets me with joy and a happy heart. He makes all my bad days better. He's my sweet little 14 year old man, and I love him more than anything on this earth.
I adopted Woodee from the Carroll County Animal Shelter ten years ago, at the age of four. At 14, he’s still agile and he’s still going strong. I can’t imagine what my life would have been like if I’d never found him!
Olive Francine
I love them because: Olive is bold and brave and the quirkiest of all our pack. She can run like the wind and loves endless games of fetch. She shows her love by rolling herself around under our chins and curling up by our sides. Olive keeps us on our toes and makes us feel like great doggie parents.
Olive “Francine” was adopted from Carroll County Animal Shelter in January 2015. She charmed us by jumping into our arms. Little did we know she could also jump from the floor to any countertop with ease! A classic min pin, she is our “tiny terrorist” and we could not love her more.
Hank
I love them because: he Is my shadow and my best 4 legged friend.
He is completely spoiled. He may be 120+ lbs but in his mind he can still fit in my lap and loves to give me hugs.
Lt Dan
I love them because: I loved him from the moment I saw him on Pet Finder. I went straight and rescued him. That was nine years ago. He is getting older and a little old mannish, but we love him just as much!
He loves the Greenbelt, treats and frozen green beans. 🤣❤️
Garner
I love them because: He is the best snuggler and walking companion! He is always excited to see us. He loves his furry best friends, Gus and his furry cousin, Lucy. He gets very excited when his bark box comes, he knows it's his as soon as I take it out of the mailbox!
Garner did not have a great start to his life. He was abandoned, picked up and taken to the shelter. He thought his luck had changed when he was adopted, but sadly his owner thought he had too much energy and brought him back. When we went to the shelter several months later, we were told about this great dog who had been there awhile. He was so sad when we first saw him, but we immediately knew he was the perfect pup for our family! We took him to the pet store to pick out some toys and treats, boy did his tail wag! He is the absolute best boy!
Honey and Oreo
I love them because: They are all the things we as humans should be... kind, loving and supportive. They bring joy to my life by simply being and they love me during the good and bad.
Benny & Toby
I love them because: Benny and Toby both were rescued from church parking lots. They enjoy naps together and lots of wrestling matches. Toby is so loving, while Benny likes to do his own thing.
Maisie
I love them because: Maisie is a sweet little character.
She is very affectionate. Loves to go on walks and will get one of her squeaky toys as soon as she senses we’re going out. She loves people and enjoys lots of attention.
Rose
I love them because: she is the best snuggler around. When she gets pets, there is no happier or more loving creature on earth.
~3 year old calico. Most nights, when I lay down on the bed, she will shortly follow up and sit right in front of my face for a good-night pet before bed.
Cocoa
I love them because: She makes us laugh, loves us always, and understands everything.
Cocoa was at a shelter that had a Parvo outbreak. We were asked to foster her, that was 6 years ago. She is odd shaped, a little disorganized, and we laugh because when people see her they think she is some fancy kind of dog… she thinks of herself as pretty fancy too. She makes up games and insist we play them with her. She does what she wants, and we let her.
